You’re pregnant. But instead of feeling excited and happy, you’re worried, fearful and uncertain. While you’re happy about the baby and looking forward to being a mom, you are finding it difficult to shake off the rotating thoughts of “what ifs”. Sometimes you’re feeling downright stressed. You start wondering: “Is there something wrong with the baby?” or “What if I can’t handle childbirth?” or “Why doesn’t my partner seem as happy about the baby as I thought he’d be?”

These thoughts are common among pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time of change, a transition from being a woman into motherhood.  With any transition, uncertainty exists generating a natural response of worry and anxiety. For some women, however, such negative emotional states take over, pushing feelings of happiness to the background and leaving them feeling stressed and gloomy.

The question many women ask is, “Will the worry, stress, and anxiety I feel while pregnant have a negative impact on my baby?” and with this question, guilt, shame and fear often sets in, a sense of feeling inadequate while doubting one’s ability to know what to do to interrupt the negative feelings.

These are the very sentiments we work with because we understand the cycle of triggers and emotional responses that pregnant women feel as they try their best to do everything they can to have a healthy pregnancy.  We understand that while the scientific research shows that negative emotions have an impact on a woman and her baby, it is also not your fault that you’re experiencing them, in fact this is normal.

Our goal is to help you curb these emotions with Psych-K® Mommy Sessions and prevent further maternal psychological distress that can be associated with negative outcomes such as preterm births or greater irritability in infancy,(postnatal) depression, relationship problems, and physical challenges such as obesity.

Psych-K®, since its inception in 1988 has been used to address mental and emotional obstacles to happiness. It uses a simple process that helps you change beliefs that limit your self-esteem, relationships and physical health.  By focusing on beliefs that are rooted in the subconscious mind, you are able to change the subconscious beliefs that perpetuate old habits of thinking.  This means you interrupt the natural fears, doubts, worries and anxiety responses while you are pregnant and transform your experience into feeling calm and capable.

During your Psych-K® Mommy Session, you likely noticed that there were beliefs that surfaced that you may not have been aware of, but that were clearly not supporting you.  When we balanced and then used the techniques to release those beliefs, we created the opportunity for your brain to respond and act differently.  Using these techniques puts you in a  “whole-brain” state while increasing the communication within the brain.  As a result, your new beliefs, that will positively support your pregnancy and delivery, are maximized.

It’s important to remember that the Psych-K® Mommy Session balancing creates the change potential, then by taking the actions we discuss at the end of your session, you create the positive results.
